Mouse Paint Art Lesson

This project is based off of the book Mouse Paint written by Ellen Stoll Walsh. It is such a great book to teach about color mixing.

I do this art lesson with the first graders in my school and they always have a lot of fun adding their own personalities to their mice. We draw the mice together, step by step for the first two mice, and by the third mice they are always ready to go and draw it on their own. You can find this lesson in my TPT shop and there I have included every step including photos to draw the mice.

We use sharpie markers to draw the mice and every year I pick a new medium to paint the paint puddles. Here we used tempera paint sticks.
